New Delhi: The strong momentum seen in gold and silver prices during 2025 is expected to continue through 2026, driven by sustained demand for safe investments and industrial use, according to analysts.
Data released by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) highlights a notable rise in gold futures with February expiry, which surged to ₹1,38,875 per 10 grams this week from last week’s closing of ₹1,35,752. Similarly, the spot price of 24-carat gold reached ₹1,37,122 per 10 grams, up from ₹1,34,782 the previous week.
Silver futures for March expiry on MCX also witnessed a sharp increase, climbing to ₹2,52,002 per kilogram, marking a decisive breakout from recent consolidation and entering a strong bullish trend once again.
Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, commented, “Gold on COMEX remains strong near $4,500 per ounce, with gains of over 1 percent, stabilising slightly below record highs after a robust rally.”
He further added, “Silver futures on COMEX jumped more than 6 percent to nearly $79.79 per ounce, up from $75, supported by renewed industrial demand and increased buying as a safe haven.”
Investor sentiment in silver remains positive due to ongoing supply constraints, record purchases by central banks, and rising demand linked to green energy sectors such as solar, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
In 2025, gold and silver delivered exceptional returns to investors, with gold rising approximately 66 percent and silver surging over 171 percent.
These trends indicate that gold and silver will likely remain attractive investment options in 2026, supported by both safe-haven demand and industrial growth factors.
