Goa Election Commission Updates on 97 Missing Voters; 88 Have Submitted Form-6

Panaji, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : The Election Commission of Goa has provided an update regarding 97 voters who were missing from the final electoral roll, as reported on October 1. The Chief Electoral Office shared the latest information via a post on the social media platform X.

According to the report, 88 of the 97 cases have successfully submitted Form-6, which has been accepted. Among the remaining cases, three voters were found to hold Portuguese passports, while six are currently residing outside India. The office noted that efforts are underway to contact those living abroad for necessary follow-up actions.

Previously, on September 24, the Chief Electoral Officer of Goa issued a press note indicating that these 97 cases were being processed separately through a door-to-door campaign to fill out Form-6, as they were not included in the final electoral list published in February 2026.

The press release clarified that many of these voters have already registered, while actions on the remaining cases are ongoing. The office emphasized its commitment to ensuring that no eligible voter is overlooked.

On September 26, a significant meeting of the Election Commission took place, during which it was revealed that the Chief Electoral Officer of Goa had instructed the relevant Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to collect forms from the missing voters directly at their homes.

As of September 26, 81 of the 97 voters had already filled out Form-6 to include their names, a number that has now increased to 88. This initiative by the Election Commission aims to guarantee that every eligible voter in Goa is included in the electoral list, providing relief to those who may have missed the opportunity to register for any reason.
