New Delhi, February 19: The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is attracting participants from around the globe. Experts from various sectors are sharing their experiences related to artificial intelligence (AI) at this landmark event, the first of its kind in the Global South.

Mohammad Diaby, head of the Digital Transformation Delivery Unit, emphasized the need for African nations to engage in this global initiative. He stated, “AI is a global endeavor. We need to explore how we can leverage AI to tackle challenges in sectors like agriculture and health. We are here to discover significant innovations in this domain and to discuss partnerships with all stakeholders, institutions, and technical partners.”

Branimir Farkas, Political Counselor and DCM at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, noted the importance of statements made by Prime Minister Modi and French President Macron during the summit. He remarked, “It’s crucial that we consider how we use artificial intelligence and ensure it aligns with our civilization.”

Vasilios Michail Karkatzounis from Greece’s Ministry of Digital Governance highlighted the significance of the summit, stating, “This event is vital, and it’s commendable that India is hosting it. As President Macron mentioned, it’s an essential initiative. We are proud and happy to be here. Establishing a global consensus on artificial intelligence is critical. We need to define the necessary regulations and ensure that AI supports humanity rather than replaces it. Taking active steps in this direction is essential.”

Vasilis Koutsoumpas, Digital Policy and AI Advisor at the Greek Prime Minister’s Office, expressed support for inclusive AI, emphasizing that no one should be left behind. He stated, “The tech dividend, the social and economic benefits derived from technology, must be widespread. This is the point Prime Minister Modi emphasized, which President Macron also highlighted, and it aligns with what our Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis advocates.”

Aurora Russi, Minister Counselor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in New Delhi, welcomed India’s hosting of the summit. She noted, “Italy shares many values with India, one of which is that humanity should be at the center of our efforts. This is the greatest added value we can derive from this summit.”

Greek diplomat Alexandros Baudouris found Prime Minister Modi’s remarks compelling. He shared, “Having spent three years in Delhi, I was pleased to hear such insightful discussions from PM Modi and President Macron. The positive impacts of AI are not just about action but also about its effects on humanity. From my experience in India, I know it is a civilization deeply rooted in human values, making it an ideal place to address challenges.”
