Noida, March 27: Under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police have intensified their efforts against drug trafficking in the NCR region. This ongoing campaign targets criminals involved in the smuggling of marijuana and other narcotics from other states, implementing strict legal actions.
The police have effectively enforced the Narcotics Act, leading to the arrest of individuals engaged in drug trafficking, with a significant quantity of narcotics seized. This operation is attributed to their vigilance, robust intelligence network, continuous monitoring, and quick strategic decisions.
According to data, from January 1, 2023, to January 31, 2026, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police registered a total of 1,681 cases under the Narcotics Act. In these cases, 1,920 suspects have been apprehended, highlighting the seriousness and success of this initiative. The seizure statistics are also quite alarming.
During this period, the police have confiscated 7,270.109 kilograms of marijuana, 9.022 kilograms of hashish, 0.7331 kilograms of smack (along with 27 packets), 104.885 kilograms of MDMA, 500 grams of OG, 9.02 kilograms of doda, 630 grams of narcotic powder, 885 narcotic pills, and 3,373 e-cigarettes. This indicates that traffickers were heavily involved in illegal activities, which the police successfully intercepted in time.
The police department asserts that this campaign is not only crucial in dismantling drug trafficking networks but also plays a vital role in protecting society, especially the youth, from falling into the trap of addiction. This action is a significant step towards achieving the goal of a “drug-free society for a secure future.”
The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have also appealed to the public to actively participate in this social campaign. If any suspicious activities are observed, they urge citizens to promptly inform the local police station or dial 112 to ensure timely action.
