Amritsar, March 22: An FIR has been filed against former minister Laljit Bhullar, his father Sukhddev Singh Bhullar, and his personal assistant in connection with the suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, the district manager of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. Punjab BJP President Sunil Kumar Jakhar criticized the state government, stating that justice remains incomplete and that Bhullar’s arrest is essential.
In a video released following Randhawa’s tragic death, Jakhar targeted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab. He accused the government of attempting to suppress the case, which is why the BJP is opposing them.
Jakhar stated, “The report regarding Gagandeep Randhawa’s suicide, which should have been filed by 7 AM, was only registered late at night, around 11 or 12 PM. The poor policies and mindset of the Punjab government have become evident.”
The FIR against Laljit Singh Bhullar was registered based on a complaint from Gagandeep Singh’s wife, Upinder Kaur, at the Ranjit Avenue police station. She has named the former minister, his father, and the personal assistant as accused and is demanding action.
In her written complaint to the Amritsar Police Commissioner, Upinder Kaur mentioned, “I am employed as a science teacher at Government Senior Secondary School, Amritsar. I married Gagandeep Singh Randhawa in 2007. We have three children—two daughters and a son. My husband held the position of district manager at the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation.”
She further explained that her husband was responsible for the Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts. Tenders for the construction of new warehouses were issued last October, which required approval from the Chandigarh headquarters. Upinder Kaur alleged that the harassment and pressure from the former minister and his father led her husband to take his own life. Before his death, he posted a video on social media detailing his harassment. She is urging strict action against all accused.
