FMGE January 2026 Result Declared

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has announced the results for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) January 2026 session. Candidates can check their results on the official website natboard.edu.in or via the direct link provided below. This year, only 23.77% of the candidates have cleared the exam.

The FMGE January 2026 exam was conducted on 17 January 2026. Scorecards will be available for download starting from 6 February 2026. It is important to note that foreign medical graduates must pass this exam to obtain a medical license to practice in India.

Exam Statistics and Passing Numbers

A total of 43,933 candidates appeared for the FMGE January 2026 exam. Out of these, 10,264 candidates passed, while 32,604 candidates failed. Additionally, 1,061 candidates were absent, and the results of four candidates have been withheld. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will announce the dates for issuing certificates to successful candidates at a later time.

Correction in Exam Questions

After the FMGE held in December 2025, each question was reviewed by subject experts to ensure the technical accuracy of questions and answer keys. It was found that one question was technically flawed, and all candidates received marks for it. Another question had two correct answers, and candidates who selected either of these answers were awarded marks.

FMGE Passing Criteria

To pass the FMGE exam, candidates must score at least 150 marks out of a total of 300.

FMGE January 2026 Result Direct Link and Scorecard Details

The scorecards will be available for download for six months from the date of issue. After this period, any requests for scorecard issuance will be rejected, as the documents will no longer be accessible on the NBEMS website. Candidates are advised to safely store their scorecards for future reference.

How to Check FMGE Result?

1. Visit the official NBEMS website at natboard.edu.in.
2. On the homepage, click on the ‘Examinations’ tab and select the ‘FMGE’ link.
3. Find and click on the ‘FMGE January 2026 Result‘ notification.
4. A PDF file will open containing the roll numbers and scores of successful candidates.
5. Use ‘Ctrl+F’ to search for your roll number.
6. Download and print your scorecard for future use.

FMGE June 2026 Exam Date Announced

The date for the FMGE June 2026 examination has been declared. The exam will be held on 28 June 2026 in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second shift will be from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

FMGE Must Be Cleared Within 10 Years

According to the rules set by the National Medical Commission (NMC), foreign medical graduates must pass the FMGE or NEXT exam within 10 years of completing their medical course. Those who have studied MBBS abroad and wish to practice medicine in India must clear this exam within the stipulated timeframe to obtain their license.
