New Delhi, July 15: Five new government degree colleges will be established in Rohtas district, Bihar, to enhance higher education opportunities. Minister Shravan Kumar announced that the state government aims to provide better educational prospects for youth across all regions. He highlighted that under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, significant strides have been made in the education sector. Following this initiative, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has directed the opening of government degree colleges in blocks that currently lack such facilities.
Minister Kumar emphasized that the government previously focused on establishing degree colleges in subdivisions without them. The primary goal is to connect female students with higher education and promote their self-reliance. He mentioned that various schemes have been launched to encourage girls’ education, resulting in a substantial increase in the number of girls pursuing education.
To strengthen the education system, the state government has upgraded high schools to 10+2 institutions. This upgrade allows students in rural areas to complete their intermediate education locally. New high schools are also being established in panchayats that previously lacked them, ensuring educational expansion reaches every corner.
The minister noted that this announcement was made before the elections, promising the establishment of new degree colleges in blocks without existing government institutions. As part of this plan, government degree colleges are being set up in 211 blocks across Bihar.
Kumar expressed his happiness regarding the launch of five degree colleges in Rohtas. He stated that under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s leadership, the government is committed to fulfilling its promises. The minister plans to attend the inauguration of the colleges and engage with students, parents, and local residents.
He asserted that such initiatives in education will provide better opportunities for youth in the future. The increase in higher education facilities will allow students to study close to their districts and blocks, greatly benefiting children from economically weaker families.
In addition, regarding the Bankipur assembly by-election, Minister Shravan Kumar stated that political parties receive permission for election campaigning according to the procedures set by the Election Commission. He claimed that for the BJP, this is not just a matter of prestige but a crucial election for the NDA.
He confidently predicted that the NDA would secure victory in the Bankipur seat, citing the public’s support and trust in the NDA. The BJP has a history of winning this seat, and he believes it will remain with the NDA this time as well.
