New Delhi, February 17: The Panchang holds significant importance in Sanatan Dharma, comprising five elements: Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, and Vara. These elements determine the auspicious and inauspicious timings for any given day. According to the Panchang for February 18, it marks the Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Phalgun, lasting until 4:57 PM. Following this, the Dwitiya Tithi will commence.
Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Performing rituals for Ganapati helps eliminate life’s hurdles, brings prosperity, and enhances wealth. Devotees should worship Ganesh in the morning or during auspicious timings. Offerings should include Durva, Sindoor, Betel leaves, Perfume, Lava, Sesame seeds, along with Modak, Kheer, and Halwa as Prasad.
According to the Drik Panchang, the Shatabhisha Nakshatra will remain until 9:16 PM, after which the Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra will begin. The Yoga Shiv will be effective until 10:45 PM. The Karana Bava will last until 4:57 PM, and the Moon will transit through Aquarius. Sunrise will occur at 6:57 AM, and sunset will be at 6:13 PM.
Regarding auspicious timings, Brahma Muhurta will be from 5:15 AM to 6:06 AM, Vijay Muhurta from 2:28 PM to 3:13 PM, Godhuli Muhurta from 6:11 PM to 6:36 PM, and Amrit Kaal from 2:04 PM to 3:40 PM. These times are considered ideal for worship, chanting, meditation, or starting new ventures.
It is also crucial to consider inauspicious periods. Rahukal will be from 12:35 PM to 2:00 PM, during which no auspicious activities like marriages, naming ceremonies, housewarming, or travel should be undertaken. Yamgand will be from 8:22 AM to 9:46 AM, and Gulika Kaal from 11:11 AM to 12:35 PM. The Panchak Yoga will be applicable throughout the day, leading some to postpone auspicious activities.
