Mumbai, April 22: Today marks the anniversary of a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 lives were lost, including 25 tourists and a local horseman, Adil Hussain Shah. On this somber occasion, Adil’s family expressed their deep sorrow while also feeling a sense of pride in his sacrifice.
Adil’s father, Syed Haidar Shah, reflected on the devastating event, stating, “The incident on April 22 was extremely dangerous and tragic for us. Only we know what truly happened, as that day snatched our son away from us forever. It was a heart-wrenching event.”
Syed Haidar recounted how Adil left home at 8 AM on that fateful day. By 2 PM, they were blissfully unaware of the unfolding tragedy until they heard gunfire in Pahalgam. Attempts to reach Adil by phone were unsuccessful, leading them to believe there was a network issue. It wasn’t until late afternoon that they learned of his death at the local hospital. Following this tragedy, the family received significant support from the government and local leaders, including financial assistance and a promise of a new home.

Naushad noted the support from both state and central governments, mentioning that the former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra had provided financial aid and promised a house, which has now been completed.
He urged people to visit Kashmir and witness its beauty, stating, “Our enemies cannot bear to see people from other regions coming to Jammu and Kashmir, which is why such attacks occur. I appeal to everyone to come to Kashmir; the local people always desire peace. If people stop visiting, our enemies will succeed in their objectives.”
