
Lucknow, August 13: In the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, a ‘Tiranga Painting Competition’ was held on Thursday at Darul Uloom Farangi Mahal Eidgah in celebration of Independence Day. A large number of children enthusiastically participated, creating beautiful paintings themed around the national flag, expressing their love and respect for the country.
Prominent figures, including Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli and other religious leaders, were present at the event. This competition marked the beginning of a three-day celebration of Jashn-e-Azadi.
Student Nafiza shared, “We feel proud not just today, but every time there is an event related to our country. Today, we are feeling a lot of pride.”
Another student, Mohammad Haru Shadab, mentioned, “We have a three-day program on August 15 and January 26. There are quizzes, a Tiranga painting competition, and other contests.”
During the event, student Mohammad Affan filled the atmosphere with patriotism by reciting a poem, chanting, “Tiranga Zindabad, Tiranga Zindabad, under it, we live here free.”
Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli, President of the Islamic Center of India, stated, “Every year, we celebrate Independence Day at Darul Uloom Farangi Mahal in Lucknow. The first day features the Tiranga painting competition. The students are painting with great enthusiasm, and prizes will be awarded to them. The aim is to instill love and attachment for our national flag in the hearts of children.”
He further explained that, as in previous years, large-scale celebrations of Jashn-e-Azadi will take place in Lucknow on August 15. Students from the madrasa will also present special performances. Flag hoisting will occur, and a morning procession will be held, where many children will carry the Tiranga, spreading a positive message throughout old Lucknow.
