Enhanced Security Measures in Uttam Nagar for Ram Navami Celebrations

New Delhi, March 26: In light of Ram Navami, security has been significantly heightened in the Uttam Nagar area of the national capital. A total of 650 police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order. Additionally, 12 paramilitary units, including CRPF soldiers, are on standby. The administration has implemented a multi-layered security strategy to ensure the festival proceeds peacefully.

To monitor the situation, 25 special checkpoints have been established at sensitive and key locations. These include Uttam Nagar Thana Road, Kalai Basti, Cemetery/Eidgah Road, and Valmiki Mandir Chowk. Joint police teams from Uttam Nagar, Dabri, and Bindapur police stations are also stationed in the area. Officers are present at major intersections and narrow lanes to prevent crowding and any untoward incidents.

To further bolster security, the Dwarka district operation cell has activated undercover teams in plain clothes. These teams are patrolling the area to keep an eye on suspicious activities and are prepared for immediate action if necessary.

This heightened vigilance comes in the wake of the recent murder of a 26-year-old during Holi celebrations. Police have arrested 14 individuals in connection with this case.

Authorities have made it clear that any attempts to disrupt peace during the festival will be met with strict action. Senior officials emphasized that maintaining communal harmony and ensuring public safety are their top priorities.

Ram Navami is celebrated across the country with devotion and enthusiasm, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. The festival symbolizes the victory of truth and righteousness. On this day, devotees fast, perform rituals, and read religious texts.

According to the Hindu calendar, Ram Navami is observed on the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. This year, the festival falls on March 26, coinciding with the midday auspicious moment. The ninth date begins at 11:48 AM on March 26 and concludes at 10:06 AM on March 27.
