Noida, August 14: In preparation for Independence Day, security arrangements in the Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate have been significantly strengthened. The police have initiated intensive checks and foot patrols in crowded areas, metro stations, markets, and key public locations. On Friday, senior police officials inspected security measures across various regions.
During this operation, the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) and dog squad teams were also present. From August 14 to August 17, 2026, restrictions have been implemented under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code-2023 in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The police administration has urged citizens to adhere to the established regulations and promptly report any suspicious individuals, objects, or activities to the authorities.
Under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, DCP Greater Noida Ravi Shankar Nirm led a security campaign in the Knowledge Park area, accompanied by ADC Greater Noida Santosh Kumar, ACP-1 Greater Noida Krishna Pal Singh, the Knowledge Park station in-charge, the BDDS team, and the dog squad.
Officials conducted foot patrols at the Pari Chowk metro station and surrounding areas to assess security arrangements. Police officers checked the CCTV cameras installed at the station and provided necessary instructions to the personnel on duty. They also ensured effective monitoring of individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the station premises.
The police have instructed the establishment of barricades at critical locations to inspect suspicious vehicles and take action against drivers violating traffic rules. Similarly, DCP Central Noida Shailendra Kumar Singh, along with ADC Central Noida Swatantra Kumar Singh, ACP-2 Central Noida Kamlesh Kant, the BDDS team, and the dog squad, inspected security arrangements in the Bisrakh area.
Officials conducted foot patrols at Gaur Mall and other nearby locations, engaging with security personnel to gather information about safety measures. Police officers instructed the security staff at malls and public spaces to immediately inform local police of any suspicious individuals or objects. They also directed the establishment of barricades to inspect suspicious vehicles and take necessary action against drivers not adhering to regulations.
The police’s proactive measures aim to maintain peace and law and order in the district during Independence Day celebrations and to address any potential security challenges promptly. Police officials clarified that security arrangements in public areas will be continuously monitored, and immediate action will be taken against suspicious activities.
The police have also appealed to citizens not to touch any unattended items during Independence Day events and to report any suspicious activities to the police immediately. Increased police presence has heightened vigilance at metro stations, malls, and other crowded places.
