Empowering Women: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Guptas Commitment to Womens Empowerment

New Delhi, April 26: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed her commitment to women’s empowerment on Sunday. She emphasized that the Delhi government’s mission extends beyond just women empowerment schemes; it encompasses respect, safety, education, health, and self-reliance. “When women are empowered, Delhi will be empowered,” she stated.

CM Rekha Gupta shared information about the initiatives taken by the Delhi government for women’s empowerment on the social media platform X.

She announced a budget allocation of ₹7,406 crores for the welfare of women and children. The free gas cylinder scheme during Holi and Diwali serves as a relief measure for homemakers. The Lakhpati Beti scheme aims to secure and empower the future of daughters.

The Chief Minister noted that under the “My Capital, My Right” initiative, over 70,000 daughters have received payments exceeding ₹190 crores in pending dues. So far, more than 500,000 women have registered for the Saheli Pink Smart Card, and 130,000 daughters have received free bicycles.

She highlighted that initiatives such as CCTV installations, Rani Haat, green e-autos, and sanitary pad vending machines are enhancing women’s safety, convenience, and dignity. “And this is just the beginning. Many more significant steps for the respect and prosperity of women are yet to come in Delhi,” she added.

Earlier, CM Rekha Gupta visited the Vaishno Devi Temple. In a conversation with journalists, she expressed her prayers for the country’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. She wished for the nation’s happiness and prosperity.

On social media, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the warm welcome she received from the Bharatiya Janata Party family, especially the women’s wing, at Jammu Airport and Katra.

She remarked that the sacred abode of Maa Vaishno Devi is a center of infinite faith, strength, and devotion. “Today, I am fortunate to have divine darshan at the temple. Maa Jagdamba, residing on the Trikuta Mountain, always showers blessings on her devotees. I pray for happiness, prosperity, and joy in your lives. Jai Mata Di,” she concluded.
