Emotional Moments as Joseph Vijay Sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

Chennai, May 10: As Joseph Vijay took the oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, his father, S.A. Chandrasekhar, became emotional, recalling the struggles he faced to support his family.

Chandrasekhar shared that when Vijay was born in 1974, he was an assistant director and often struggled to make ends meet. “I remember those times vividly,” he said.

The veteran filmmaker expressed immense pride in his son, stating that Vijay always fulfills his promises. “This was my dream, and my son has made it a reality. He is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. When Vijay says something, he makes sure to deliver,” he added.

Chandrasekhar emphasized that Vijay is committed to keeping his word. “He only speaks about what he knows he can achieve. He has followed this principle since childhood.”

Vijay’s niece, Pallavi, noted that the oath-taking ceremony was a proud and emotional moment for the family.

Meanwhile, TVK legislator Maria Wilson remarked, “The people of Tamil Nadu are thrilled to see their own son, their brother, take the oath as Chief Minister. This is the moment they have been waiting for over three years.”

Wilson pointed out that many doubted Vijay’s ability to become Chief Minister, but today that dream has become a reality. She highlighted that CM Vijay announced a ‘white paper’ on the state’s finances, a move unprecedented by any previous Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

In his inaugural address, Vijay reflected on his humble beginnings, stating that he did not come from a politically privileged family. Remembering his journey from cinema to politics, he shared that he is the son of an assistant film director and has a deep understanding of poverty and hunger.

“I am not someone from a royal political background. I consider myself one of you—your son, your brother, your younger brother. This is because you have believed in me and brought me to this position,” he said.

In a passionate and politically charged speech, the new Chief Minister promised transparent governance, women’s safety, welfare administration, and a corruption-free government, thanking the people for their trust in him.
