Egypt-India Joint Training Exercise “Cyclone-4” Concludes

New Delhi, April 20: The Egypt-India joint training exercise “Cyclone-4” has successfully concluded in Anshas, Egypt. This information was confirmed by an official military spokesperson from Egypt, who also shared photos and videos from the training.

The program featured a comprehensive mix of theoretical and practical components, aimed at integrating operational concepts and enhancing coordination between the participating forces. Activities included special lectures, demonstrations of advanced weapons and equipment, and practical training on safely and effectively handling improvised explosive devices. The exercise culminated in a large-scale tactical simulation, which involved an assault on a terrorist stronghold located within a residential area.

Participating units successfully conducted coordinated operations with helicopter support, which included hostage rescue, neutralizing enemy elements, capturing adversaries, and safely evacuating and treating casualties. Additional exercises showcased advanced marksmanship capabilities in both static and dynamic scenarios.

The performance of all participants demonstrated a high level of professionalism, technical proficiency, and operational readiness, highlighting their ability to execute complex missions with precision and efficiency. This exercise is part of ongoing efforts to promote the exchange of expertise among armed forces and strengthen military cooperation with allied and partner nations.

Both Egypt and India’s elite commando units participated in this exercise, which was attended by senior ranger commanders and the Indian military attaché in Cairo. Notably, a contingent from the Indian Army took part in the fourth edition of the India-Egypt joint special forces exercise “Cyclone-4,” held from April 9 to 17, 2026, in Anshas. This event continues the trend of increasing military cooperation between India and Egypt, following the success of the previous edition held in India.

The Indian contingent comprised 25 personnel from special forces units, who trained alongside their Egyptian counterparts in a realistic operational environment. The exercise aimed to enhance joint mission planning capabilities and improve coordination through the exchange of best practices in special operations. Indian soldiers participated in a series of training activities focused on special operational tactics, techniques, and procedures in desert and semi-desert terrains.
