Eastern Railway Launches Awareness Campaign for Railvan App to Enhance Passenger Services

Kolkata, March 9: In a significant move towards promoting digital convenience and seamless passenger services, Eastern Railway has intensified its awareness campaign to encourage travelers to adopt the ‘all-in-one’ ‘Railvan’ mobile application.

This week-long initiative, aimed at popularizing the Railvan app among rail users, entered its third day on March 8, witnessing enthusiastic participation and strong feedback from passengers across the zone.

Responding to the call from Eastern Railway’s General Manager Milind Deoskar, railway officials, staff, and members of the Bharat Scouts and Guides from various districts conducted promotional activities for the Railvan app at key stations and crowded locations throughout all divisions and factories of Eastern Railway. The goal of this initiative is to familiarize passengers with the Railvan app, a single digital platform that integrates multiple railway services, making travel planning and communication with the railway faster, simpler, and more convenient.

As part of the campaign, awareness programs were held on March 8 at Howrah, Dankuni, Rampurhat, Bandel, and Bardhaman stations under the Howrah division. Passengers received guidance on downloading and using the Railvan app, along with information about its various features and benefits. The initiative received encouraging feedback from travelers and stakeholders, many of whom downloaded the app on the spot.

Similar awareness campaigns were also conducted at Sealdah, Dum Dum Junction, Sodpur, Barrackpore, Naihati, and Kanchrapara stations under the Sealdah division; Malda Town, Sahibganj, Bhagalpur, Barharwa, and Jamalpur stations under the Malda division; and Asansol, Durgapur, and Jasidih stations under the Asansol division.

The Railvan app provides passengers with an integrated gateway for various railway services, including booking local and express travel tickets and platform tickets, checking live train status, PNR inquiries, coach position information, travel planning, ordering food, and grievance redressal through Railmadad, all aimed at delivering a smooth and efficient travel experience on a single platform.

To further accelerate the campaign, volunteers from the Scouts and Guides actively participated in guiding passengers and spreading the message of adopting the Railvan app as the preferred digital platform for railway services among rail users and railway staff.

Eastern Railway reiterated its clear message to passengers: stop switching apps and switch to the single, powerful platform of the Railvan app, designed to provide faster, smarter, and more user-friendly railway services in the digital age.
