East Bengal and Bengaluru FC Draw 3-3 in Thrilling ISL Match

Kolkata, April 17: In an exhilarating encounter in the Indian Super League 2025-26, East Bengal FC and Bengaluru FC played to a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Salt Lake Stadium on Thursday. The match was filled with ups and downs, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

Bengaluru FC started strong, with Ashik Kuruniyan scoring a powerful shot in the 12th minute, giving his team a 1-0 lead. However, East Bengal quickly responded. In the 21st minute, Anwar Ali leveled the score with a stunning back volley from a corner kick.

The match took a dramatic turn just three minutes later when Miguel Ferreira received a straight red card after a clash with Ashik, leaving East Bengal with only ten players. Tensions escalated as Ferreira kicked the ball towards the Bengaluru bench while exiting the field.

Despite being a player down, East Bengal maintained their pressure. Bengaluru regained the lead in the 39th minute when Suresh Wangjam capitalized on a mistake by goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill after a cross from Ryan Williams. East Bengal refused to back down, equalizing again in the 56th minute when Sal Crespo scored after his initial shot was blocked.

Bengaluru took the lead once more in the 71st minute, with Williams scoring beautifully from a difficult angle, making it seem like they were on the path to victory.

However, in stoppage time, substitute Anton Sozberg emerged as the hero, scoring in the 90+7th minute to secure a crucial point for East Bengal. With this result, East Bengal sits in third place with 15 points from eight matches, while Bengaluru FC is right behind them, also with 15 points but having played nine matches.
