Bengaluru FC Set to Clash with FC Goa in ISL 2025-26 Showdown

Bengaluru, April 3: In the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26, Bengaluru FC (The Blues) will face FC Goa on Saturday at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Bengaluru FC aims to maintain its unbeaten streak in the tournament.

During the league phase of ISL 2024-25, FC Goa handed Bengaluru FC its first defeat of the season. Currently, Bengaluru FC is on a winning streak with three consecutive victories and is focused on improving its performance. Key forwards Ryan Williams and Ashik Kuruniyan are in excellent form, having showcased their skills during the international break. Ryan scored his debut goal for the senior men’s team in a 2-1 victory against Hong Kong in Kochi on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Bengaluru FC will face a tough challenge against a strong defensive lineup. The defense will be anchored by Sandesh Jhingan and Pol Moreno, while Akash Sangwan and Boris Singh Thangjam will handle the flanks. FC Goa is among the two teams that have conceded the fewest goals this season, with only three goals against, alongside Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

Bengaluru FC’s head coach Renedy Singh stated, “Ryan and Ashik have proven to be our strongest assets so far. Ryan has just made a fantastic debut for India, and Ashik has played and won with MBSG. The staff and players here have worked hard to bring out the best in them.”

Meanwhile, the host team will strive to enhance its flawless record this season and maintain momentum in the second half of the league. Star player Dejan Dragić must remain alert as he faces the challenge of breaking through Bengaluru’s solid defense led by Rahul Bheke. The Blues have conceded only five goals this season.

Saturday’s match in Bengaluru promises to be an exciting encounter, as both teams have prepared well during the break, knowing this match could determine their future in the season. When asked about his role in the team, midfielder Soham Varshney said, “The coach has given me a lot of freedom, which I believe is essential for a player like me to play without anxiety and express myself on the pitch. This has been very helpful, and I am playing with full confidence.”
