Drone Attack Near US Consulate in Dubai: All Staff Safe

Dubai, March 4: A suspected Iranian drone attack near the US Consulate in Dubai resulted in a fire. This incident is part of a series of drone and missile attacks targeting American diplomatic missions in the Middle East, escalating regional tensions.

The attack occurred late Tuesday night (local time), just a day after assaults on US diplomatic centers in Kuwait and Riyadh heightened stress in the region. These sequential attacks have deepened the atmosphere of hostility and insecurity throughout the Middle East.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the drone-related incident in Dubai, stating that all personnel are safe. He informed reporters in Washington, “Unfortunately, a drone fell in a parking lot adjacent to the consulate building, causing a fire. All staff are safe.”

Videos recorded by residents showed thick black smoke rising from behind the consulate building as emergency responders rushed to the scene.

The Dubai Media Office stated on the social media platform ‘X’ that “Dubai authorities have confirmed that the fire caused by the drone-related incident near the US Consulate has been successfully controlled. Emergency teams arrived promptly. There are no reports of injuries.”

Following this, the Dubai Media Office shared images of a mobile firefighting vehicle stationed outside the consulate premises. They reiterated that the fire near the US Consulate in Dubai has been completely extinguished and that there are no reports of injuries. Dubai officials reaffirm their commitment to ensuring everyone’s safety. As a precaution, the US Consulate in Dubai has canceled all visa and consular appointments until March 4.

In the aftermath of the attack, US government officials advised American citizens to stay away from the consulate premises and to remain in safe locations, as tensions in the region continue to rise amid ongoing attacks on US diplomatic facilities.
