New Delhi, August 17: The third Monday of Sawan coincided with Nag Panchami, drawing immense crowds to major Shiva temples across the country. From early morning, long lines of devotees formed outside temples, eager to perform rituals such as Jalabhishek and Rudrabhishek, with millions seeking blessings from Lord Bholenath.
At the renowned Gauri Shankar Temple in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, a steady stream of worshippers arrived throughout the morning. The temple resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam.”
One female devotee expressed her joy, stating, “It felt wonderful to have the darshan. This temple is very ancient.” Another shared, “For 30 years, we have been under Bholenath’s grace. We come here every Sawan Monday. Today, being Nag Panchami, makes it even more special.”
Another worshipper remarked, “It feels great to be here. Today is Nag Panchami, and this temple is very old. We are very happy to perform our prayers here.”
In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Dudheshwar Nath Temple also witnessed a significant influx of devotees. Shiva followers arrived early to perform Jalabhishek and other rituals. The temple administration made special arrangements to manage the crowd and ensure smooth darshan.
Maharashtra’s temples were equally vibrant. At the Tungareshwar Mahadev Temple, located on a hill in Vasai, devotees began lining up as early as Sunday night. As the temple doors opened on Monday morning, the air was filled with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” as devotees performed Jalabhishek.
In Nashik, the Jyotirlinga Trimbakeshwar Temple also saw a large gathering of devotees on the third Monday of Sawan. Special Rudrabhishek and worship of the Nag deity were conducted in honor of Nag Panchami.
