Thiruvananthapuram, March 31: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in a campaign for the BJP alongside prominent leaders in Kerala’s assembly elections on Tuesday. She presented a model of her clean and transparent governance while soliciting votes for her party.
On the social media platform X, Chief Minister Gupta wrote, “Greetings Alappuzha. The path to a developed India passes through a developed Kerala. True development will be realized when the farmers and fishermen of Alappuzha prosper, when the youth become self-reliant, and when every family feels secure.”
She attributed Kerala’s current situation to years of policy paralysis, weak governance, and political opportunism. “The reality is clear: the UDF and LDF have burdened Kerala with debts that weigh heavily on every household. Kerala now needs a new direction dedicated to service, good governance, and development. I urge you all to join this mission. Press the lotus symbol and give M.J. Job a decisive mandate,” she stated.
Following her speech, she arrived in Kochi, where she received a warm welcome. She expressed her gratitude on X for the enthusiastic reception from the BJP Kerala family, stating she looks forward to joining the mission for a developed Kerala in Alappuzha and Vaikom.
Earlier, Chief Minister Gupta welcomed the arrest of a senior civic officer by the CBI in a corruption case and reiterated the BJP government’s commitment to promoting transparency in the national capital.
She emphasized, “Zero tolerance for corruption in Delhi. Strict action. No exceptions. No safety for anyone. We are steadfast in our commitment to clean and transparent governance.” She also tagged the news of the arrest of Abhishek Mishra, the Deputy Commissioner of Shahdara in Delhi, related to the corruption case.
The Kerala assembly elections are scheduled for April 9, with the counting of votes for the 140-member assembly set for May 4.
