New Delhi, March 27: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has accused AAP’s Delhi convenor, Saurabh Bhardwaj, of spreading falsehoods regarding the ‘Green Budget’ presented by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Sachdeva stated that Bhardwaj’s objection to referring to the Delhi government’s 2026-27 budget as a ‘Green Budget’ is not only absurd but also reflects his administrative and political ignorance.
He remarked that the comments from AAP leaders are becoming increasingly ridiculous as they raise issues merely to stay in the headlines.
Sachdeva questioned Bhardwaj, stating that governments in Delhi have consistently invested in health and education. However, he pointed out that Arvind Kejriwal has promoted his government’s education and health budget as revolutionary each year without constructing new school buildings or opening new hospitals.
Now, with the BJP government claiming to present a ‘Green Budget,’ Bhardwaj is engaging in childish opposition.
The Delhi BJP President further explained that every government creates separate heads for budget allocations. Following this system, the Delhi government has included expenditures for road improvements through the Public Works Department and the Municipal Corporation, along with projects like RRTS, promotion of e-buses, electric vehicles, and initiatives such as the Pink Ticket Scheme under the ‘Green Budget’ category.
In another development, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor stated that Kejriwal’s latest post on the social media platform X is merely a new tactic from his old political strategy.
The spokesperson asserted that despite being in power for 11 years, Kejriwal has accomplished nothing and instead pretends to be a victim.
Kapoor added that Kejriwal succeeded twice by portraying himself as a victim in 2015 and 2020, but the people of Delhi have now fully understood his double game and can no longer be misled.
