Earlier in the day, reports indicated that six Pakistani soldiers were killed in clashes between Afghan border forces and the Pakistani military in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province.
Tensions escalated late Sunday when the Pakistani military allegedly shot an Afghan child, prompting an immediate response from Afghan security forces.
Amu TV reported that the clash occurred in the Spin Boldak district, a crucial border crossing between the two countries. A Taliban-linked source in Kandahar stated that six Pakistani soldiers were killed, and one was captured, with another soldier’s body recovered by Taliban forces.
During this period, Afghan forces also seized several light and heavy weapons, as tensions and violent skirmishes along the border have been increasing since the end of February.
