Jammu, August 1: BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma has condemned the remarks made by National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti regarding Kashmir. He stated that such statements are deplorable.
In an interview with a news agency, Sharma remarked, “Giving Pakistan a clean chit has become part of these senior leaders’ discourse. Blaming agencies and claiming that incidents are occurring because of them is incorrect. If these individuals are safe today, it is solely due to the agencies. We are secure because our soldiers are guarding our borders and ensuring our safety.”
He asserted that terrorists are executing attacks at the behest of Pakistan. During such times, it is unbecoming for leaders in high positions to make such statements. Supporting our soldiers, security forces, and agencies should be our priority. Today, the country is in safe hands; we owe our security to the forces and agencies.
Sharma further stated, “Today, the people of PoJK (Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir), who are under illegal occupation by Pakistan, wish to join India. Why do they want to join India? Due to the conditions there, why are innocent people being killed? Why are they being ruthlessly targeted? The reason is that the environment has been deteriorated by those individuals.”
He added that giving Pakistan a clean chit has become a tendency among local leaders. Such individuals should spend at least six months in Pakistan to understand the situation there and here.
Expressing condolences for the laborers killed in the terrorist attack in Kulgam, the BJP leader said, “May God grant the deceased a place at His feet and provide strength to the family during this time of grief.”
