CPPCC Annual Conference to Commence on March 4 in Beijing

Beijing, March 3: A news briefing was held on March 3 regarding the fourth plenary session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Spokesperson Liu Qiye informed domestic and foreign media about the assembly’s agenda. The fourth plenary session will officially open at 3 PM on March 4 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and will conclude on the morning of March 11, lasting for seven days.

Liu outlined the main agenda items for the session. These include reviewing the work report of the CPPCC Standing Committee and the proposed work reports, attending the annual meeting of the National People’s Congress (NPC) to hear the government work report, and discussing the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for economic and social development.

In response to related questions, Liu noted that despite a challenging external environment last year, the Chinese economy has shown resilience and vitality, moving forward in a positive direction. He expressed confidence that by addressing challenges with determination, China can maintain a trend of stable development and advance its economy in the long term.
