Varanasi, February 24: Mukundanand Brahmachari addressed the media on Tuesday regarding the FIR filed against Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. He stated, “The actions of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh are unacceptable.”

He continued, “We can say this with full confidence. Our Prime Minister has never made such allegations. Whenever there has been wrongdoing, Shankaracharya has raised his voice. The Prime Minister and Home Minister have never considered such matters. These incidents have occurred during Yogi Adityanath’s rule, who identifies as a Hindu and is the head of the Gorakhpur monastery. The judiciary must investigate this promptly to clarify the truth.”

Brahmachari expressed that “these heinous accusations have deeply hurt the citizens of the country. Is there no senior leader who can openly explain how such serious charges can be leveled against Shankaracharya? Currently, we have no expectations from anyone. We have approached the judiciary, hoping for a swift trial and resolution of the case.”

He added, “We are not legal experts, so we cannot predict the outcome in the High Court. We can only provide information based on our lawyers’ advice. Advocate Parameshwar Nath Mishra is leading this case, consulting with other lawyers and Shankaracharya before presenting our case in the High Court. We feel secure among our people, and there is no reason to fear. God is protecting us. Those who wish to harm us are in their own world. Our concern is for the children and their parents.”

Mukundanand Brahmachari emphasized, “The Uttar Pradesh police, the state government, and all administrative officials must protect the children of the nation. The Child Welfare Committee should ensure that no injustice occurs to these children again.”

He further stated, “This incident is merely a tactic to tarnish Shankaracharya’s image. The administration has dragged saints, children, the elderly, and ascetics into this matter and has even resorted to violence against us. The biggest question for the Uttar Pradesh government is how they allowed those with over 20 cases against them to make such accusations. They should be ashamed for making such fabricated claims, and the court should punish them.”
