Controversy Erupts Over Use of Pandit in UP Police Sub-Inspector Exam

Deoria, March 15: A controversy has emerged regarding the use of the term ‘Pandit’ in the Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector recruitment exam. BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi expressed his concerns about the issue.

In an interview, he stated that it is extremely unfortunate. Upon learning about the matter, he promptly wrote to the Chief Minister’s office to bring it to their attention. An investigation has already commenced.

Tripathi mentioned that the Police Recruitment Board has provided information regarding the inquiry. He believes this act was intentional. He accused certain groups of trying to disrupt the social environment with such actions. He assured that those responsible would be identified and strict action would be taken.

BJP MLA Rakesh Goswami revealed that he learned through social media that a question in the Sub-Inspector recruitment exam included ‘Pandit’ as an option for ‘opportunist.’ He criticized this as a result of a flawed mindset, stating that individuals with such thinking cannot work for the benefit of society. He has also written to the Chief Minister, demanding an investigation and action against the culprits.

BJP MLA Mahesh Trivedi commented that targeting a specific caste or raising questions based on caste leads to societal division. He pointed out that opportunists exist in every class, community, and religion. He called for an investigation into the matter and urged for strict action based on the findings.

Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput accused the BJP, questioning what is happening in Uttar Pradesh. He asked why Pandits are being defamed, referencing the shift from Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati to allegations of corrupt Pandits. He suggested that this seems to be a serious crime or perhaps a conspiracy. He demanded accountability from those who are attempting to divide society based on caste and religion for power.
