New Delhi, March 15: In a tribute to the founder of the Bahujan Samaj Party and social reformer Kanshi Ram, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his respect on the occasion of Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary. He emphasized that the Congress party has always stood for the participation, dignity, and constitutional rights of the Bahujan society and will continue to do so.
Rahul Gandhi took to the social media platform ‘X’ to post, “On the birth anniversary of Bahujan leader Kanshi Ram, I pay my humble respects. His relentless struggle and dedication for the rights of the poor, Dalits, and marginalized serve as an inspiration for us all. He believed that the Constitution is the true strength of Dalits, backward classes, and the marginalized.”
He further stated, “The Constitution is under threat today. Those who sit in power swearing by Babasaheb’s Constitution are intent on weakening it. Without participation in power, justice is not possible, and this is the legacy of Kanshi Ram. The dream of social justice will not remain unfulfilled. The Congress party has always stood for the participation, dignity, and protection of the Constitution for the Bahujan society, and it will continue to do so.”
Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge posted, “The great social reformer Kanshi Ram organized Dalits, marginalized, oppressed, and backward classes, securing them a respectable place in the mainstream of Indian politics. His contribution to the fight for social justice and equality will always be inspiring. On his birth anniversary, we pay our humble tribute.”
Meanwhile, RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, wrote, “On the birth anniversary of the architect of social justice, the proponent of political integration and upliftment of the marginalized, and the champion of social and political consciousness among marginalized groups, I offer my heartfelt respects and tribute to the great social reformer Kanshi Ram. The path he showed to the oppressed and exploited classes is the way to achieve equal development and equality in the country.”
