Congress Must Reassess Its Leadership, Says West Bengal Minister in Response to PM Modis Remarks

West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh comments on PM Modis critique of Rahul Gandhi, urging Congress to reconsider its leadership strategy.

Kolkata, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. During a Lok Sabha session, PM Modi questioned how long Congress would continue to promote a “failed product” like Gandhi. Ghosh suggested that the party should reflect on how long it intends to carry Rahul until his sister, Priyanka Gandhi, is ready to take the lead.

Ghosh emphasized that Congress operates as a family-run party, with leadership confined to its lineage. He noted that until Priyanka is fully prepared, Rahul will remain the face of the party. Addressing PM Modi’s assertions about Congress’s repeated failures, Ghosh pointed out that the party lacks alternatives due to its familial structure.

Agreeing with Modi’s statement that Congress undermines honest protests, Ghosh remarked that it is evident Congress contributes little to movements. He accused the party of capitalizing on the efforts of other organizations during elections, claiming their role is merely opportunistic.

Ghosh questioned the public’s awareness of individuals like Neha Bora, suggesting that social media sometimes elevates unknown figures to leadership. He criticized certain parties, including communists, for lacking identifiable leadership and attempting to present random individuals as leaders. He asserted that the Indian populace is not easily deceived by such tactics, highlighting the nation’s rich historical context of movements.

On the issue of grievances, Ghosh mentioned that individuals can take their complaints to court or propose discussions in Parliament. He noted that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has indicated a willingness to discuss any proposals concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, he criticized the opposition for lacking substantial arguments or evidence, accusing them of merely creating disturbances.

Regarding an upcoming march in Delhi aimed at restoring democracy, Ghosh stated that democracy is alive in India, evidenced by the ability to hold such events. He suggested that if one wishes to discuss democracy restoration, they should look to countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Finally, commenting on Rahul Gandhi’s frequent absences from Parliament and election campaigns, Ghosh remarked that the public does not accept “part-time” leaders who disappear for extended periods.
