Bihar Elections: Neeraj Kumar Signals Victory Amid Voting, Anant Singh Claims Win for Anuj Singh
Voting continues in Bihars Patna Graduate constituency as candidates Neeraj Kumar and Anuj Singh assert their chances of victory.
Patna, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Voting is underway in the Patna Graduate constituency of Bihar’s Legislative Council, which began at 8 AM on Friday. Amid tight security, voters are exercising their rights. Neeraj Kumar, the candidate supported by the NDA and Janata Dal (United), flashed a victory sign, indicating his confidence. In contrast, Anant Singh, the MLA from Mokama, asserted that Anuj Singh, the candidate from Jan Suraj, would emerge victorious.
As Neeraj Kumar departed for his polling area, he displayed a victory sign to the media. Political activity has intensified as voting commenced, with all eyes on the contest between Kumar and Anuj Singh.
Anant Singh commented on the election, stating, “This is not a sweet shop election. The public is the master, and our victory is assured. Victory is not found in a store; it resides with the people. Therefore, there are no issues.” He dismissed concerns about electoral irregularities, emphasizing that the public’s vote is sacred and no dishonesty will occur. “If anyone tries to cheat, the people will respond,” he said, adding that the atmosphere remains calm.
Regarding a video released by senior JD(U) leader Vashistha Narayan Singh in support of Neeraj Kumar, Anant Singh noted that Singh is unwell and appealed for votes for Kumar. Singh is a respected figure in the party, and Anant Singh chose not to comment further on his statement.
Despite this, Anant Singh reiterated his belief in Anuj Singh’s imminent victory, claiming he would win by a significant margin. When asked about voter participation and the metaphorical reference to sweet treats, he explained that approximately 600 individuals travel from three districts to vote, incurring travel costs and making significant efforts. He reinforced that elections are won through public support.
The NDA has nominated Neeraj Kumar for the Patna Graduate constituency, while Anuj Singh is backed by Anant Singh. Political parties and their supporters are keenly awaiting the election results following the voting.
