Chhindwara, August 10: Jitu Patwari, the President of the Congress party’s Madhya Pradesh unit, stated that the party’s goal is not merely to contest elections but to build an organization from the booth level to the state level that truly represents the voice of the people.
During the first day of a two-day training program for district Congress committee leaders in Chhindwara and Pandhurna, Patwari emphasized that the reconstruction of the Congress organization is not just about forming positions. It is a process of establishing strong connections between ideas, workers, and the public. The focus is on creating new organizational structures across Madhya Pradesh while prioritizing the training of party workers. Continuous two-day training programs are being held at the district level.
He remarked that only a trained worker can lay the foundation for a strong organization. The Congress aims to prepare a structure that stands with the people in all circumstances, from the booth level to the state level. Patwari noted that the recent victory in the Datia by-election should not be viewed merely as a win in one assembly constituency. It is a testament to the hard work of Congress workers, organizational unity, and the trust of the public.
Patwari asserted that the people of Datia have demonstrated that if Congress workers engage robustly with the community and the organization mobilizes effectively, public trust can remain with Congress despite the BJP’s power and resources. He indicated that the results from Datia send a clear political message to the state government, urging it to review the actual conditions in the state. The government must seriously consider issues such as the plight of farmers, unemployment, law and order, corruption, departmental management, and the state’s financial situation.
The state Congress president criticized the BJP for failing to fulfill its grand promises made to the public after coming to power. He stated that the public is now questioning the BJP and expects answers. Promises of large-scale employment for the youth have not materialized, leaving unemployment as a serious challenge. Similarly, despite bold claims regarding the economy, the increasing national debt requires the government to provide clear answers to the public.
Patwari emphasized that the BJP government needs to move beyond announcements and publicity to tangible actions on the ground. The public is seeking answers to pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, farmers’ problems, and corruption. He highlighted that Chhindwara has been a strong organizational area for Congress, and the dedication, discipline, and connection of its workers with the public are significant strengths. This strength will be further enhanced through new organizational creation and training.
