New Delhi, March 18: Political rhetoric has intensified regarding recent events in the Uttam Nagar and Palam areas. Leaders from various parties have raised concerns about law and order, as well as administrative systems. They have also criticized the government over issues related to religious freedom and civic amenities.
Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh has accused the BJP of engaging in polarization politics in response to the situation in Uttam Nagar. He stated that the BJP is attempting to create divisions in society for electoral gain, which he believes will ultimately fail.
Singh condemned the incident in Uttam Nagar, asserting that preventing any religious event is against the fundamental principles of the Constitution. He referenced a similar incident in Sambhal, noting that the High Court has taken a strong stance against such actions.
He urged the government to allow people to celebrate their festivals, particularly Eid, without any hindrance, as the Constitution grants equal rights to all religions.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh described the recent fire incident in Delhi as extremely tragic. He alleged that victims did not receive timely assistance during the incident and questioned the role of the fire department.
Singh labeled this as a significant example of administrative failure, insisting that the government must be held accountable. He criticized the BJP, claiming that they place no value on the lives of ordinary people and are only focused on their own interests.
Sanjay Singh also expressed concern over the functioning of the Delhi government, highlighting the deteriorating conditions of basic amenities like water and electricity. He noted that power cuts before the summer season indicate the government’s lack of seriousness regarding public issues.
In the wake of the fire incident in Palam, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sahrawat expressed deep sorrow. He revealed that nine members of the same family lost their lives in the tragedy, which he described as extremely painful. The fire reportedly started in a shop, but smoke spread to the family’s residence above, leading to their deaths due to suffocation. Sahrawat emphasized that this serves as a crucial lesson for citizens to remain vigilant about their safety.
