Noida, March 27: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have implemented extensive and multi-layered security arrangements for the inauguration of the newly constructed Jewar International Airport, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Under the direction of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, the entire area has been placed on high alert with strict security measures in effect. Given the sensitivity of the event, a five-tier security ring has been established around the venue and its surroundings. Coordination with the Special Protection Group (SPG) has led to rigorous checks at every entry point, including thorough frisking, baggage scanning, and identity verification.
Additionally, anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal unit inspections, and anti-mine scanning procedures have already been completed. To bolster security, over 5,000 officers and staff from the Uttar Pradesh Police have been deployed, along with joint teams from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Rapid Action Force (RAF), Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Intensive screening is being conducted at the venue using door frame metal detectors, with separate checking enclosures for women. An anti-drone system has been activated to prevent any potential threats, and the area has been designated as a red zone, prohibiting drone flights. Social media monitoring is also in place to keep an eye on rumors and suspicious activities. Special protocols for crowd management have been established, and a control room for CCTV surveillance has been set up, along with police help desks at various locations.
Emergency response teams, including the State Reserve Force (SRF), have been deployed, while fire brigade and ambulance services remain on alert. Real-time traffic monitoring and diversion plans have been implemented to maintain smooth traffic flow. Fifteen designated parking areas have been established for approximately 20,000 vehicles. A phased dispersal plan has also been prepared to ensure the safe exit of the crowd after the event.
Furthermore, coordination among all agencies is ensured through the deployment of sniffer dog squads, quick reaction teams, and a wireless encrypted communication system. Due to the proximity to the Yamuna River, river patrolling has been arranged as well. The police administration has stated that all security and management arrangements are fully prepared to ensure the event is conducted safely, systematically, and successfully.
