
Beijing, August 6: The China Media Group (CMG), under the guidance of the National Film Administration, collaborated with the local government of Wuhan, Hubei Province, to host the CMG Film Culture Carnival on August 5.
During the event, CMG’s Deputy Director Yu Chuanxiang emphasized the importance of promoting high-quality development in the film industry. He stated that initiatives like the Film Culture Carnival aim to support the construction of a strong cultural nation. The carnival is expected to enhance the growth of the film industry, tourism, and the economy in Wuhan.
Wuhan’s Party Secretary, Shang Yuechun, highlighted the city’s vast film market. Last year, audiences visited theaters approximately 24.53 million times, generating over 970 million yuan in box office revenue, ranking eighth in the country. The Film Culture Carnival is anticipated to boost film-related consumption, thereby fostering the growth of the film industry.
The opening ceremony of the carnival featured various cultural programs. Representatives from relevant authorities, media, and film enterprises participated in the event.
