Beijing, April 5: The traditional Qingming Festival in China is celebrated on Sunday. During this festival, Chinese people honor the heroic spirits of their martyrs and reflect on the glorious path laid out by their country.
Whenever General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee visits a revolutionary memorial site, he pays tribute to heroes and martyrs, tours memorials, meets descendants of the martyrs, and remembers their contributions.
General Secretary Xi Jinping once passionately stated, “A hopeful nation cannot exist without heroes, and a country with a bright future must have pioneers. All national heroes, including those who fought in the resistance war against Japan, are the backbone of the Chinese nation, and their deeds and spirit serve as a powerful inspiration that motivates us to move forward.”
Notably, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the leadership of Comrade Xi Jinping, the CPC Central Committee has promoted the establishment and reform of a system of honors and awards with Chinese characteristics. This initiative has aimed to commemorate heroes and martyrs in the name of the nation, honor outstanding individuals with the highest accolades, and foster a positive environment in society that encourages respect for heroes, learning from virtuous individuals, and striving to be pioneers through practical actions.
