Chinese and Russian Deputy Prime Ministers Attend 10th China-Russia Expo Opening Ceremony

Beijing, May 18: Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Guoqing and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Petrovich Trutnev jointly attended the opening ceremony of the 10th China-Russia Expo held in Harbin, northern China.

They read congratulatory letters from President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin and delivered speeches. On May 16, they co-chaired the sixth meeting of the intergovernmental cooperation committee between Northeast China and the Russian Far East.

Zhang Guoqing stated that President Xi Jinping’s congratulatory letter reflects the high importance placed on practical cooperation between China and Russia. Under the strategic guidance of both presidents, meaningful results have been achieved in various fields of cooperation between the two nations.

In line with the significant consensus reached by both presidents, China is eager to enhance mutually beneficial development opportunities by effectively utilizing platforms like the China-Russia Expo to promote the “Northeast-Far East” cooperation mechanism with Russia.

Trutnev expressed that Russia is prepared to leverage the committee mechanism to highlight local cooperation opportunities and enrich the achievements in the development of bilateral relations.
