Dehradun, July 15: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has extended his best wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Harela Festival. In a message released on the eve of the festival, the Chief Minister stated that this celebration reflects gratitude towards nature and promotes local culture and environmental protection, inspiring us to stay connected to our traditions. The Chief Minister highlighted that the spiritual and rich cultural heritage of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has a unique identity. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘One Tree in the Name of Mother’ campaign has raised public awareness about tree plantation. The Forest and Horticulture Department has developed an effective action plan to conduct extensive tree plantation drives in both urban and rural areas during the Harela Festival. He emphasized that tree plantation has now become a subject linked to social responsibility and public sentiment. This initiative will also help inspire future generations to connect with their traditions and fulfill their responsibilities towards nature conservation.
The Chief Minister urged all residents to contribute to environmental protection by planting more trees. He emphasized the importance of public participation in this effort and called upon all social organizations and institutions for active cooperation.
