Varanasi, May 15: A festive atmosphere erupted in Varanasi after the High Court’s ruling on the Bhojshala case. Madan Mohan Yadav, the lawyer representing the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi case, described the court’s decision as unprecedented.
Yadav stated that the honorable court has directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to make a decision based on its report. He urged the court to issue similar directives for other pending religious matters, allowing ASI surveys to guide future rulings. The community welcomed the High Court’s decision, and Yadav mentioned that rituals would be conducted in Varanasi regarding the discovered Shivling.
Dr. Sohanlal Arya, a party in the Gyanvapi case, expressed that the Bhojshala ruling is highly encouraging for Sanatanis worldwide. He noted that the court recognized the ASI report, declaring it a temple. He emphasized that similar recognition should be applied to the Gyanvapi site, especially after the ASI’s findings of religious artifacts like conch shells and tridents.
Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, another lawyer for the Hindu side in the Gyanvapi case, remarked that the ruling favored their position. He anticipated a favorable outcome, asserting that the site was indeed a temple, originally built by King Bhoj as a significant educational institution. Unfortunately, invaders destroyed it and constructed a mosque in its place.
Chaturvedi highlighted that all evidence supports their claims, with artifacts reflecting Hindu culture. He stated that all temples destroyed by invaders should be returned to Hindus. The High Court’s decision sets a precedent, and the swift ruling is commendable.
