
Jammu, August 9: As Independence Day approaches, a wave of patriotism sweeps through Jammu and Kashmir. Under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2026′, large rallies featuring the national flag were held on Sunday in Jammu, Tral, Bandipora, and Poonch. Thousands of students, youth, and local residents participated, carrying flags and spreading messages of unity and national pride.
In Jammu, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing organized an impressive bike rally from the Shaheed Smarak. Senior BJP leaders including Sat Sharma, Ashok Kaul, Ghulam Ali Khatana, and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma joined party workers, all holding the national flag and promoting messages of patriotism and dedication to the nation. The rally traversed major city roads, where supporters welcomed the participants enthusiastically.
In Tral, Pulwama, the district administration led a significant flag rally from the Government Degree College to the Tral bus stand. This event was spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Basharat Qayoom and ADC Tral, attracting thousands of students, youth, and local residents who participated with great enthusiasm.
Deputy Commissioner Basharat Qayoom stated, “This year’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’ will run from August 9 to August 17. Today, we launched the initial rally in the Tral sub-division, with a large turnout from across the area.”
Similarly, in Bandipora, the BJP district unit organized a flag rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’, which saw a significant number of party workers participating.
On this occasion, BJP State General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan remarked, “Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government took office, our party has organized ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and flag rallies every August 15 and January 26. This initiative aims to unite the nation and instill patriotism among the youth.”
In Poonch district, celebrations for the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ coincided with the third phase of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’. The district’s youth services and sports department hosted sports competitions at a local stadium, followed by a flag rally.
Mohammad Qasim, the district youth services and sports officer, mentioned, “Today, the sports department was tasked by the district administration to organize various sports activities and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally.”
Activity head Vijay Kumar added, “We conducted various activities here to bring the youth together, aiming to foster a spirit of patriotism among them.”
Participant Pallavi expressed, “We were informed about the rally for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’. With Independence Day approaching, it feels incredibly proud to hold the flag.”
