CBI-Interpol Operation: Three Red Notice Fugitives Deported to Malaysia

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), acting as the National Central Bureau (NCB) for Interpol in India, has successfully carried out a significant international operation in collaboration with NCB-Kuala Lumpur. On Tuesday, three individuals wanted under Interpol red notices were deported from India to Malaysia.

The three fugitives, identified as Sridharan Subramaniam, Prathip Kumar Selvaraj, and Navindran Raj Kumarsan, were sought by Malaysian authorities for involvement in serious organised crime cases. These crimes allegedly aimed to unlawfully gain financial benefits, power, or influence.

According to officials, the trio arrived in India from the United Kingdom but were denied entry at Mumbai International Airport by immigration officers based on existing red notices. Subsequently, Malaysian authorities requested assistance from NCB-New Delhi to facilitate the legal process for deporting these individuals back to Malaysia.

In response, a Royal Malaysia Police escort team arrived in Mumbai on January 25. With coordinated efforts from NCB-New Delhi and other Indian agencies, the operation was smoothly executed, ensuring the safe deportation of the three wanted persons to Malaysia.

Authorities have highlighted that this successful operation underscores the robust cooperation between India and Malaysia in law enforcement. It also reflects the effectiveness of Interpol’s channels and the red notice system in combating international crime.

The Interpol red notice remains a vital tool for law enforcement agencies worldwide, enabling swift identification, arrest, and extradition or deportation of fugitives in line with national laws.
