New Delhi, March 22 : The on Cabinet on Tuesday approved a bill to fy the three m cipal corporations in Delhi. Informed sources said the government is likely to present “The Delhi M cipal Corporation (Amendment) Act 2022” next week in Parliament. The above amendment provides for a fied M cipal Corporation of Delhi by subsuming the existing three corporations. The decision comes days after the State Election Commission called off declaration of election dates to the three civic bodies citing a comm cation from the Centre about its plan to merge the three bodies. The erstwhile Delhi M cipal Corporation was broken into three M cipal Corporations: South Delhi M cipal Corporation (SDMC), North Delhi M cipal Corporation (NDMC) and East Delhi M cipal Corporation (EDMC) in 2011.
