Patna, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : In Patna, on September 10, BJP state president Sanjay Sarawagi launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Digvijaya Singh regarding the announcement of the ‘Sanatan Swabhiman Yatra’ from Ujjain to Ayodhya. He urged Singh to clarify his stance with Rahul Gandhi before proceeding with the yatra.
Sarawagi criticized Singh for his plans to undertake a pilgrimage while accusing Congress leaders of not visiting the Ram Mandir. He highlighted the contradiction in Congress leaders advocating for the yatra while questions linger over Gandhi’s absence from Ayodhya.
He further alleged that the Congress party is raising such issues for electoral gains and to appeal to their vote bank. “The public is observing this type of politics, and Congress leaders must answer for it,” Sarawagi stated.
Additionally, he mentioned the BJP’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ celebrating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, which began with his oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister on October 7, 2001. The BJP plans to organize various events over the next month to highlight Modi’s contributions.
Sarawagi supported BJP national president Nitin Nabin’s comments regarding Rahul Gandhi’s understanding of the national anthem, accusing Congress of disrespecting ‘Vande Mataram.’ He emphasized that the anthem was sung by freedom fighters during the independence movement, criticizing Congress for allegedly pandering to Muslim vote banks while disregarding national symbols.
In response to Gandhi’s call for the resignation of Punjab minister Harpal Singh Cheema, JDU leader Shyam Rajak also took aim at Congress. He questioned Gandhi’s commitment to Dalit rights, referencing the historical treatment of leaders like B.R. Ambedkar and Jagjivan Ram by Congress.
Rajak asserted that the Congress leadership’s history raises doubts about their sincerity in advocating for Dalit issues.
On the proposal to rename Bakhtiyarpur to ‘Nitishpur,’ Minister Santosh Suman praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his significant contributions to Bihar’s development, linking the name change to honoring Kumar’s legacy.
Suman also commented on Congress MP P. Chidambaram’s remarks regarding the BRICS summit, suggesting that Congress’s inability to host such conferences during their tenure has led to their current frustrations.
