BJP Praises Delhi Police for Handling CJPs Tricolor Event in Connaught Place

Delhi BJP chief Harsh Malhotra commended police for managing disruptions during CJPs tricolor event in Connaught Place.

New Delhi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi BJP, led by President Harsh Malhotra, commended the Delhi Police for their effective management of disruptions caused by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) during a tricolor flag hoisting event in Connaught Place. The event on Friday was marked by attempts to create chaos, which the police successfully mitigated.

Malhotra pointed out that despite being granted bail by a magistrate, Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka attempted to stage protests at Jantar Mantar. The police responded by bringing them back before the magistrate, who subsequently ordered their detention for five days for violating bail conditions.

The CJP, protesting against the magistrate’s decision to jail its members, called upon youth to gather in Connaught Place to hoist the tricolor. However, the police managed the situation smoothly, and the turnout of young supporters was minimal, undermining the CJP’s anti-government narrative.

Malhotra noted that prominent leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, who had encouraged the youth to participate, did not show up by 5 PM, further diminishing the event’s impact. He expressed concern that the actions of the CJP and its supporters could disrupt the business activities of many small traders in the area during the festive season.

He concluded by stating that the CJP’s efforts had ultimately failed, and the Delhi Police’s handling of the situation was commendable.
