Siddharthnagar, March 14: BJP MP Jagdambika Pal has accused opposition leader Rahul Gandhi of creating confusion and panic in the country. He stated that despite being the leader of the opposition, Gandhi is raising issues in Parliament and among the public that unnecessarily alarm people, even though the government has clarified that there is no shortage of petroleum products in the country.
Pal claimed that the Congress party is promoting hoarding and black marketing of domestic gas cylinders.
In an interview with a news agency, he mentioned that Gandhi raised concerns about a gas shortage in Parliament, while Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri assured the public that the supply of oil, petrol, and gas is entirely normal and there is no shortage.
He alleged that despite this, Congress MPs are obstructing the proceedings of the House and protesting at the gates of Parliament, creating an unnecessary political atmosphere.
The BJP MP stated that this behavior from the opposition is an attempt to instill panic among the public. He noted that Iran has allowed oil tankers destined only for India to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, with two such vessels arriving at Indian ports in the last two days. According to him, there is no need for concern regarding the supply of petroleum products, and there will be no shortage of oil, petrol, or gas in the future.
He warned that the statements and protests from opposition parties could encourage hoarding and black marketing in some areas, which is a completely irresponsible attitude. He accused Congress of trying to create a negative atmosphere for political gain rather than serving the public interest.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, he emphasized that he should act in accordance with his responsibilities as the leader of the opposition. Pal accused Gandhi of often being absent during parliamentary sessions, which reflects irresponsibility towards the country’s largest democratic platform and impacts the democratic process.
