BJP leaders honored Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, reflecting on his contributions to the partys ideology and principles on his birth anniversary.

New Delhi, September 25 (Daily Kiran) : On September 25, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gathered in New Delhi to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. They reflected on his significant contributions to the ideological development of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and the BJP. His philosophy of “Integral Humanism” and the principle of “Antyodaya” were central to the discussions.
Union Minister and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra addressed reporters, stating, “Today marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. He was instrumental in providing ideological direction to the Jana Sangh and later to the BJP. He served as the General Secretary of the Jana Sangh from 1951 to 1968 and later became its president.”
Malhotra emphasized the importance of Upadhyaya’s vision, saying, “The philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’ he articulated is the core value of our BJP today. The NDA governments also adhere to this principle, focusing on uplifting the poorest and most marginalized in society. Prime Minister Modi has embraced this philosophy, which underpins over 200 welfare schemes aimed at benefiting the underprivileged.”
He further noted that due to the policies of Prime Minister Modi, along with the influence of Upadhyaya’s principles, 250 million people have risen above the poverty line in the past 12 years. “Today, as we remember him, we celebrate his legacy which has made the BJP the world’s largest political party,” Malhotra added.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari highlighted the significance of September 25 for the party, pointing out that Upadhyaya was born in the Braj region. He compared Upadhyaya’s impact to that of Lord Krishna in the same area, noting that his ideas are gaining global recognition. Tiwari asserted that the essence of Upadhyaya’s philosophy holds solutions for issues like global terrorism and climate change, emphasizing that true poverty alleviation requires a spirit of Antyodaya in every nation.
Delhi Minister Ashish Sood referred to Upadhyaya as a source of inspiration for BJP workers. He remarked, “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya is an ideal figure for millions of party workers. His vision of integral humanism explains the collective consciousness of the nation as a ‘Chiti,’ which when awakened, gives rise to the nation’s ‘Virat’ form.”
Sood also noted that Prime Minister Modi has consistently spoken about the importance of collective consciousness since the COVID-19 pandemic.
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj paid her respects, stating, “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya is our guiding light. On his anniversary, I pay my heartfelt tribute to him. He gifted us the philosophy of integral humanism and the principle of Antyodaya, which ensures that the benefits of development reach the last person in line. This has also become the foundation of Prime Minister Modi’s development policies and diplomacy.”
