Counting for the Gorakhpur-Faizabad teacher MLC elections is ongoing, with SP candidate Sanjay Tripathi expressing confidence in his victory.

Gorakhpur, October 27 (Daily Kiran) : The counting of votes for the Gorakhpur-Faizabad teacher constituency in the MLC elections has commenced. The process began on October 27, with ballot boxes from 200 polling stations across 17 districts being opened. Sanjay Tripathi, the candidate from the Samajwadi Party (SP), has expressed strong confidence in his chances of winning. He claims to have received significant support from teachers and believes he will secure victory by a substantial margin.
In a conversation with the media during the counting process, Tripathi highlighted his long-standing engagement with educators, which he believes has bolstered his support. While he refrained from providing an exact vote count, he expressed optimism based on the backing he has received, expecting favorable results.
Tripathi also raised concerns regarding the background of the election observers. He alleged that one observer had a controversial past, citing a CBI charge sheet and claims of millions being seized during raids. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining fairness and transparency in such a critical electoral process, advocating for the appointment of unbiased individuals to oversee elections.
As the counting continues, candidates and their supporters are eagerly awaiting the results. Tripathi remains hopeful about his victory, but the full electoral picture will only be clear once the final results are announced.
Authorities have implemented strict security measures at the counting venue, allowing only those with valid documentation to enter. A heavy police presence has been deployed in the area to prevent crowd gatherings.
