Actress Sunaina Threatens Legal Action Over Deepfake Videos

Mumbai, October 27 (Daily Kiran) : Mumbai actress Sunaina has issued a stern warning regarding the creation of deepfake AI videos using her likeness. She indicated that anyone found sharing such content would also be held accountable.

Recently, several fake deepfake videos featuring Sunaina have gone viral on social media. In response to this incident, the actress expressed her outrage and announced her intention to take legal action.

On Instagram, she shared a note stating, “I have learned that an AI-generated video is circulating on social media and other online platforms, featuring my face superimposed on explicit content. This material has been digitally created or altered to make someone appear like me.”

Sunaina described this act as a serious attack on her dignity, privacy, and identity. She categorized it as a form of sexual harassment that is entirely defamatory. “I am shocked and deeply disturbed by this vile and malicious act, and I strongly condemn it. It is a gross violation of my identity and dignity, and under the Information Technology Act of 2000 and the Indian Penal Code of 2023, it constitutes a crime. Such behavior is completely unacceptable,” she stated.

She warned those involved in the creation and dissemination of these videos, declaring, “I will initiate criminal and civil action against anyone responsible for creating, publishing, or spreading this content without any further notice. Anyone who shares it will also be held accountable. I urge my well-wishers, the public, and the media not to share this content and to report it wherever they encounter it. All my rights and legal remedies are reserved.”
