New Delhi, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : BJP leaders in New Delhi have responded to calls for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, asserting that the opposition lacks substantial issues to address. They argue that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the nation is witnessing significant development, recognized globally.
During a media interaction, BJP MP Manan Mishra accused the opposition of disrupting parliamentary proceedings and seeking various issues to protest against. He emphasized that the public understands this behavior and it will not impact their support.
Mishra also praised Captain Smita for her bravery, noting that her actions have garnered admiration worldwide, including from figures like former U.S. President Trump. He highlighted the widespread celebrations in her honor and the prayers for her well-being, stating that she has enhanced India’s reputation on the global stage.
Addressing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Mishra asserted that this law guarantees equal rights for all citizens, regardless of religion. He clarified that the UCC is not limited to Hindus or Muslims but is intended to provide equal legal rights, including property rights, for everyone.
In response to the opposition’s demand for Kumar’s resignation, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya remarked that the opposition appears to be sensing the political landscape leading up to the 2029 elections. He criticized parties such as Rahul Gandhi‘s Congress and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena for attacking various institutions, including the Supreme Court and the Election Commission, while lacking any real issues to discuss.
Meanwhile, in Lucknow, Minister A.K. Sharma and Mayor Sushma Kharkwal led a cleanliness campaign on Gandhi Jayanti.
