
Bhopal, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav underscored the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of self-reliance and Swadeshi during a ceremony on October 2. Speaking at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center in Bhopal, he highlighted how the “Make in India” and “Made in India” initiatives are advancing the vision of an independent India.
On the occasion of Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Yadav paid homage at the statue of the Father of the Nation. He noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India’s democracy is gaining a unique identity on the global stage.
Yadav also honored former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri by laying flowers at his statue at Old Assembly Square. He expressed pride in celebrating the anniversaries of two great leaders who shaped the nation. Gandhi’s message of self-reliance and nation-building, along with Shastri’s ideals of simplicity and integrity, continue to inspire the country.
The Chief Minister remarked that for a long time, certain political parties perpetuated colonial legacies. However, under Modi’s leadership, there is a strong push for promoting indigenous products to achieve self-reliance.
He also praised Captain Smrit Machhar for his bravery in saving Israeli passengers during a recent airline incident, calling it a remarkable example of humanity and duty. Yadav stated that Machhar’s actions not only saved lives but also thwarted the plans of terrorists, bringing pride to all Indians. Prime Minister Modi has also extended his congratulations to Captain Machhar for his courageous act.
