Lucknow, August 5: Avadhesh Prasad, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of disrespecting Sanatan Dharma. He stated that if anyone has insulted Sanatan Dharma the most, it is the BJP.
He remarked, “When the national president of the BJP first visited Lucknow, BJP members danced on the ground of Hanuman Ji after his departure. Is this respect? Has Sanatan Dharma not been violated?”
Referring to an incident in Prayagraj, he said, “A prominent saint was prevented from bathing. He was dragged and humiliated. Is this not an insult to Sanatan Dharma?”
Avadhesh Prasad also raised questions about the construction of the Ram Temple. He noted, “In Ayodhya, the land of Lord Ram, the unveiling of Lord Shri Ram took place, yet saints were not allowed to enter. If this is not an insult, then what is?”
He mentioned the theft of donations at the Ram Temple, stating, “There was a theft of offerings at Shri Ram’s temple. Gold, silver, diamonds worth crores, and vast amounts of land were embezzled. Who are the culprits in the trust? The feelings of crores of devotees of Lord Shri Ram have been violated. Ayodhya, the land of Maryada Purushottam Ram, has been tarnished. What could be a greater insult?”
He asserted, “If any party has insulted Sanatan Dharma the most, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party. They conduct business in the name of Ram, steal offerings in his name. What could be a greater insult to Sanatan Dharma?”
Avadhesh Prasad launched an attack on the BJP government in the state, saying, “Many Chief Ministers have served in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav, Mulayam Singh, Chaudhary Charan Singh, and others have worked to enhance the dignity of Uttar Pradesh. Unfortunately, I must say that if anyone has weakened the dignity of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, it is none other than CM Yogi.”
He criticized CM Yogi, stating, “The way he operates bulldozers, demolishes homes, and sometimes makes sarcastic remarks is unbecoming of a sanyasi, a yogi, and the Chief Minister of such a vast state like Uttar Pradesh.”
MP Avadhesh Prasad concluded by asserting that the accusations against the Samajwadi Party for breaching decorum are unfounded. “The members of the Samajwadi Party have always maintained the dignity of the house. I have had the opportunity to be in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly nine times. Many Chief Ministers have served, and we have always worked to uphold the traditions and values of the house.”
